Hygiene is to the upmost importance to PrettyEdgy Nails. I follow a strict hygiene procedure for all tools, equipment, furnishings and hard surfaces.

Hand Hygiene

Your nail artists hands will be washed before your arrival and a fresh pair of gloves will be worn throughout your treatment. After removal of their gloves they will wash their hands again, apply another fresh pair of gloves and clean/disinfect the treatment area and all touch points. These gloves will then be disposed of and hands washed again. This process is repeated for each client.

- Willow hand and foot sanitiser spray is available on request to all clients. Tested to EN Standards BS EN1276, BS EN14476 & EN1650 against Bacteria, Fungi & Viruses.

- Clients hands are also sprayed at least twice throughout all nail treatments with Willow hand and foot sanitiser spray. Tested to EN Standards BS EN1276, BS EN14476 & EN1650 against Bacteria, Fungi & Viruses

​Tools

This consists of all metal tools and nail cleaning brushes being cleaned using Willow ultrasonic cleaning solution (formulated with disinfectants active against yeasts, bacteria and viruses) in a ultrasonic machine. Ultrasonic cleaning works through high-frequency sound waves at 43 kHz transmitted through liquid to clean the surface of immersed parts. Ultrasonic waves cause alternate high and low pressure in the solution. During the low pressure stage, millions of microscopic bubbles form and grow. This process is called cavitation. During the high pressure stage, the bubbles implode and release enormous amounts of energy. They work in all directions, attacking the surface and invading all recesses and openings.  

All tools are then sprayed with the Willow spray and go solution 

• Up to 99.99% germ kill rate within 60 seconds on Bacteria (2 mins on viruses)
• Tested to EN Standards BS EN1276, BS EN14476 & EN1650 against Bacteria, Fungi & Viruses
• Proven to be effective against:
  Coronaviruses including COVID-19 , MRSA, C.diff, HIV-1, E.coli, Hepatitis B, Influenza A (Inc H1N1), Salmonella, Legionella, Staphylococcus, Listeria, Pseudomonas, Tuberculosis and many more.

PrettyEdgy Nails uses disposable files for every client so you can guarantee you have a new file being used on you at every treatment.

Hard Surfaces (Desks/Chairs/LED Lamp/Arm Rest/Door Handles/Light Switches/Bathroom Tap & Sink/Toilet Flush Button)

All other hard surfaces and furnishings are cleaned and disinfected between clients with Clinell disinfectant spray effective against a large array of Viruses, Bacteria, Mycobacteria, Fungi (yeast) and Veterinary organisms. Communal Areas

Please note: The communal area from the first brown door all the way to our front door is cleaned on a monthly basis by professional cleaners. Unfortunately, due to the constant footfall (clients, neighbours, delivery couriers etc) we can't control, monitor or clean this area ready for each client.

PrettyEdgy Nails takes the upmost care in minimising cross contamination. However, viral diseases such as the common cold and flu are inevitable especially in the winter months. If you have cold or flu symptoms or have been around anyone showing flu symptoms in the last 7 days please reschedule your appointment. Three groups of people are at risk of catching your illness if you arrive at PrettyEdgy Nails unwell: Following clients, my family and myself. There is also only one of me and if I get sick, no one will be able to get their nails done. If I or anyone in my household has cold or flu symptoms ALL clients will be contacted so you can reschedule.
